Analytical and Experimental Investigations of Novel Maglev Coupling Based on Opposed Halbach Array for a 2D Valve

In this paper, a novel maglev coupling based on the opposed Halbach array is proposed as interface between linear electro-mechanical converter and 2D valve body. This non-contact possesses several advantages over existing mechanical couplings such zero friction wear, low vibration noise, no lubrication, which expected to greatly improve control accuracy life cycle of valve. A detailed analytical model established electro-magnetic theory. Firstly, permanent magnets decomposed into types basic elements obtain their individual expressions, are then re-superimposed whole formula torque–displacement characteristics. order maximum output torque coupling, parametric analysis was performed using an optimal pitch angle shifted distance explored found. To verify correctness modelling results, characteristics were also studied through both FEM simulation experimental approach. The results modelling, experiment in good agreement, shows that magnetic can reach about 0.579 N·m when external armature displacement 1 mm. research work provides important reference for future application
